The group's CNAS-accredited laboratory offers a wide range of environmental testing services.

Steel slag is a solid waste resource generated during steelmaking. It comes in many varieties with widely varying compositions and properties. Currently, the comprehensive utilization rate of processed steel slag is approximately 25%, with large quantities discarded, forming slag mountains that seriously threaten environmental and ecological safety and increasingly become a bottleneck for the survival and development of the steel industry. Currently, Shougang Jingtang has 1.8 million tons of steel slag per year, and to respond to national environmental protection policies, these steel slags urgently need to be processed.

The group's CNAS-accredited laboratory offers a range of environmental testing services. In the dust emission detection project in Tianjin Binhai New Area, laser scattering was used to improve detection accuracy. The intelligent detection equipment developed enables continuous monitoring, with data uploaded in real time to the environmental protection cloud platform.

Systemic governance promotes emission reduction and efficiency improvement.
For NOx emission issues in the steel industry, Tianjin Yicheng's developed multi-phase catalytic denitrification technology has improved the removal rate. In the Hebei Xinda Steel renovation project, this technology effectively reduced NOx emissions. The carbon capture and utilization system also developed achieved considerable CO₂ capture at Tangshan Port Lu Steel, used for green methanol production.

Smart consulting assists in transformation planning.
The group's established Carbon Neutrality Research Institute has provided transformation solutions for numerous enterprises. In the Shanxi Jianbang Group case, through full-process diagnosis, multiple emission reduction opportunities were identified, and significant carbon reduction is expected. The developed carbon footprint tracking system can accurately calculate the carbon emissions throughout a product's lifecycle, supporting the construction of a green supply chain.
